Environment
For us as in the paper-working industry, environmental protection is more important then ever. We contribute by working to reduce environmentally damaging greenhouse gases (CO2).
We have already achieved the following:
Reduction of energy (power and gas) in our production:
- Renouncement of flue-curing (hot air drying facilities)
- Use of a central frequency driven air-compressor with integrated waste heat recovery for space heating
- Operation of a new energy saving CTP System
- Minimal electric light power consumption as a result of an architectural structure which benefits from a high inlet of natural light
- As our production employs double-ended labels with two-sided laminated silicone paper, less substrate is used than with single sided labels. This is how valuable resources are conserved.
- 50% reduction of hotmelts in deploying protective-colloid-free adhesion
further measures:
- Reduction of waste in general
- The absence of an in-house car pool
- Preference of local enterprises wherever possible
- Business trips by train or other public transportation
- Our paper manufacturers must comply to the FSC- or PEFC-standards
- Our waste removal service providers must be certified according to §52KrW-/AbfG or appropriate directives of the national law.
- On the production site there are several natural areas which provide habitat for the local flora and fauna.
We still aim for the following:
- Complete reduction of hotmelts by the end of 2010
- Installation of a 250 Kwp- photovoltaic construction on the roof of the production halls.
